Formal Wedding Officiant Services
I'm a full-time wedding officiant. I have an office on Monument Circle in the heart of Indy where I perform simple civil ceremonies and romantic elopements, daily. My weekends (and many weekdays) are filled with formal wedding ceremonies that may be performed in one of Indy's premiere wedding venue's, your family's farm, or anywhere in between.
You may be planning the formal wedding day of your dreams but only want a short and sweet ceremony - a very popular trend right now! You might want a ceremony that expresses you as a couple - telling your story and expressing your personalities. Perhaps you have decided to forego a religious ceremony in a church or synagogue but still want to include religious aspects in your wedding ceremony. You may be a Secular Humanist with a completely secular view of love and marriage and you want your ceremony to reflect those beliefs. Maybe you want to do something a little different and prefer to have your hands fasted as in days of old.
My goal as a professional wedding officiant is to perform the perfect wedding ceremony for you. Most of my ceremonies are light-hearted with a hint of humor, and often, a lot of fun! I want the two of you to be comfortable and in-the-moment as you exchange vows. I also want your guests to be engaged in your ceremony. I also realize that you might want a more serious wedding ceremony filled with more traditional, religious aspects. Your pastor, priest, or rabbi may not be performing your wedding ceremony but you would still like to have that type of ceremony - pleasing to you, and/or, your more religious family members. I love reciting the Seven Blessings for a Jewish Wedding and often include them in a wedding ceremony with Catholic vows. Everyone can be pleased.
I have 10 years of experience as a wedding officiant in Indiana. The majority of the wedding ceremonies that I perform are non-religious. I have a background in Christianity and enjoy learning about all religious and spiritual paths and finding the best ways to express them in your wedding ceremony. I love special requests! My favorite recent requests were for The Unbreakable Vow from Harry Potter - with Star Wars Quotes - and another couple that wanted to break that glass at the end of their ceremony - I know, breaking the glass is pretty normal - except both the groom and the bride wanted their own glass to smash! I just performed a pagan inspired wedding ceremony with a hand fasting that honored the bride's beliefs but didn't offend the Christian guests. There is a happy medium for everyone. I love my job!!

Knowledge only experience can give
Being a wedding officiant for a formal wedding is not the same every time. Sure, I could go to every wedding and perform the same wedding ceremony every time - plenty of wedding officiants do. - A religious ceremony is basically the same every time.- Just about every simple civil ceremony or budget elopement I perform is the same script, but a formal wedding is something different. I become a wedding officiant to help any couple get married any way they want to be married. I want you to have choices.
You are unique and the two of you are unique as a couple. Even if I used the same ceremony script for every wedding, every wedding would still be different. I'm not a person standing in front of you just saying words. I'm a person standing in front of a couple in love, vowing their love to each other for life. I'm speaking words that express the commitment you are making in a tone that compliments your wedding. It may be very serious and it may be very fun. It may be life, love, laughter, and tears - all rolled into one.
Your wedding is a family event as much as pubic social event, everyone you love, and want to be there, should be there and feel welcome and comfortable. You, or your family, may have special needs - maybe you will have children attending, or participating, in your wedding with special needs that don't always react well in public situations. Maybe you have anxiety or are on the Autism Spectrum. I get it. I really do. I have 2 children on the autism spectrum. They are awesome and amazing - and they like the comfort of their own home - we all do. I never know how they may react in a situation they are not familiar with. I welcome you and your family, just the way you are. I will do anything I can to make you, and everyone, feel as comfortable as possible.
Weddings can be simple, romantic, light-hearted and a wonderful party. You wedding may be a day you've dreamed of all your life. You may have dreamed of your father walking you down the aisle - and he is no longer with us. You may have planned your dream wedding with your grandmother, who can't be there to see your dreams come to life. I want you do know I get that.
LGBTQ weddings are as normal to me as any other wedding. Love is love. But it may not be that easy for you on your wedding day. I want you to know that you are welcome, loved and accepted just as you are on your wedding day. Your parents and family may get it - and it's like any other wedding - or they may be trying really hard to understand and may choose to attend or not. How they may act or react - remains to be seen. I empathize with you. I've married countless same gender couples. I was performing commitment ceremonies before same-gender marriage was legal.
I've performed wedding by the deathbed of the bride's father - and few year later, married her brother to a woman who had also recently lost her father. I married a couple in the cancer wing of a local hospital because the groom was not getting married without his grandmother, and that's where she was. I once performed a completely non-religious wedding for two closet atheists with very religious families - just so they could blame the ceremony on me. I actually do that more often then you'd think. They told their family I was the only person they could find to travel to their property and that's the type of wedding I perform. I can be as discreet as you need me to be. I hope I have the refined experience, compassion and empathy to meet you wherever you and your family might be on your wedding day.

My services and Wedding Ceremony Packages
A formal wedding ceremony usually involves you obtaining a marriage license - and me signing it with you. That's what makes your marriage legal. Before we can perform a ceremony we have to choose a wedding ceremony script - or create the perfect ceremony for you. Then, we perform the ceremony. This process may take an hour - you can book me online, choose a wedding ceremony you love that's already written from my website, I show up, sign your license and perform the ceremony and leave. I meet many couples for the first time at their wedding. Or, the process may involve many hours over several months. You might interview several officiants, we may exchange countless emails and customize your ceremony down to the last word. We rehearse and pay attention to every detail. It can be as simple or detailed as you want or need. I get it, it might not be that deep - for you.
This website walks you through everything I do for formal wedding ceremonies. It explains my packages - what's included in the packages and how much they cost. I also try to explain why I charge what I do when I think it will help you understand what you're paying for. I've made a very conscious effort to break down my services and prices in such a way you can choose what you want, need, and can afford.
This website had a great deal of wedding ceremony script information to try and put everything you will need for your formal wedding ceremony in one place. I also have a dedicated wedding ceremony website: http://weddingceremonypro.com.
