Formal Wedding Ceremony, Rehearsal and Professionally Personalized Ceremony Script $550
This is the package for when you want a truly personalized wedding ceremony. You want me to tell your love story and add your personality into the details of the wedding ceremony script. I also include extra details that I think are important if you are planning a formal wedding ceremony. When you book the full, formal wedding ceremony package my whole week revolves around you. I schedule extra time for everything to make sure that I do everything thing I can to avoid any possible mistake. This is a very popular package for couples traveling from out of town. It always helps to have local professionals who can take care of every detail. When you book this package my entire week revolves around your wedding and rehearsal. This package includes:
- 2 meetings. These can be in person, over the phone, or video chat. Generally, the first meeting is in person and the second meeting is a phone call. I use Google Documents so we can all literally be on the same page at the same time.
- A personalized wedding ceremony. This may or may not include telling your own love story - That’s not for everyone. I can help you narrow down your wedding ceremony options and personalize them for you. I can do research to create something unique for you based on your own interests. I provide everything you need to create a wedding ceremony yourself online for free. This service is when you want help creating the ceremony. I can do all or most of the work and you can have as much or as little input as you like. If you just want me to do it all because you aren’t that interested but you want it to be a nice ceremony - this is the option for you. You may also want to go through every detail - twice - this is also the option for you.
- The rehearsal. You might need me to organize and run your rehearsal or just want me at the rehearsal. If you have a wedding planner or your venue coordinator runs your rehearsal I will work with them. They will be directing everyone on your actual wedding day. I think it's always a good idea to have everyone at your rehearsal to feel confident going into your wedding day knowing everyone is on the same page. If you don't have a confirmed rehearsal time I will hold any possible time until you know. Sometimes, your rehearsal might be on a Saturday morning or even a Thursday.
- Time - I give you more time. I guarantee an arrival time 45 minutes before the scheduled start time and you have up to an hour past your scheduled start time to get married. Fingers crossed you never need these extra times for anything but you never know. I block out 4 hours on my schedule for your wedding giving me time to get there early and not need to rush off anywhere...just in case.
- I will file your marriage license for you. You need to obtain your own marriage license but I will return it for you. If you live in Marion County I will return your license in person, obtain 2 certified copies, and mail them to you within a week. If you live in another county I am happy to mail it to the issuing clerk for you. You can always return your marriage license yourself. Generally, couples living in other counties will return their license themselves in person and obtain their own certified copies. Getting to the Marion County Clerk can be more time consuming with traffic and parking. My office is right down the street and I'm in the Marion County Clerk's office just about every Monday. It's generally a lot easier to get to the clerks office in smaller towns.

Date: Day, Month, Date, Year
Time: 00:00 AM/PM
Location: Name and Address of Venue
This package includes:
A professionally performed wedding ceremony. I will arrive at least 45 minutes early on the day of your wedding. Complete your marriage license with you and perform the ceremony script of your choosing. You will have an hour to actually get married from the scheduled start time. The ability to accommodate a late start is built into this package.
I will attend your rehearsal. I can either organize and lead your rehearsal or work with who is. This will depend on your venue and if they have a coordinator if you have a wedding planner or a day-of-event coordinator. I will arrive at least 15 minutes early for your rehearsal and you will have an hour past the scheduled start time to rehearse. A rehearsal does not generally take a full hour. Every situation is different. The rehearsal is to make sure you are comfortable going into your wedding day. We will do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable.
*If you do not know the date and scheduled start time of your rehearsal, please let me know the date and approximate time so that I can block four hours of time around the possible start times until you are able to confirm the details with your venue. If your venue thinks it may be on a different DAY - or if that’s even a possibility, let me know, I will block those dates and times on my calendar as well.
You will have a personalized wedding ceremony script. This is different for every couple. I provide everything you need to create a wedding ceremony yourself online for free, including pre-written wedding ceremony scripts. Every couple having a formal wedding ceremony is welcome to use those tools to create and edit their own ceremony any way they want it. This package includes me helping you to personalize your ceremony.
*A personalized ceremony can be different for every couple. Some couples want to write their own ceremony with my professional input and have me perform it. Not every officiant is open to that. I want you to have the ceremony you want to have and nobody knows what that is better than you.
*Some couples just want a nice ceremony and hire a professional to make sure it goes off without a hitch. It’s OK to say that the party is more important than the ceremony! I’m not offended by that. I specialize in that. These couples hire a professional to perform a ceremony trusting everything will run smoothly and they will be legally married in the end. I have questions that I ask each couple that helps me to narrow down your best options. It makes the process quick and easy.
*Some couples want a more collaborative personalized ceremony. They want me to tell their love story. They want special unity ceremonies or ceremony elements. They want to have a lot of input in their wedding ceremony but want professional guidance. I can help you narrow down your wedding ceremony options and personalize them for you. I can do research to create something unique for you based on your own interests. This service is very popular for formal weddings taking place outside a church but still, needs religious elements to find a balance that makes their family happy.
What’s not included. I am very happy to be as excited about your wedding ceremony and wedding ceremony script as you are, however, there are some things that I no longer offer. I am open and genuinely interested in every religion and how each person relates to God. I am open to all people and I support each couple in any way they choose to get married. That does not mean that I’m the best person to marry you. I want you to understand that I’m an online ordained minister and experienced professional wedding officiant. I have a very strong Christian background but I am neither a religious person nor associated with any mainline church, therefore, I have chosen not to perform certain religious ceremonies. They include:
Full Christian ceremonies. I specialize in secular and mildly religious, non-denominational ceremonies. If you are looking for a Christian ceremony with a bible-based sermon and/or holy communion, please find an actual pastor. I’m very happy to include prayers, blessings, bible readings, and Christian unity ceremonies in your wedding ceremony. I also regularly mix Christian and Jewish elements into wedding ceremonies for couples. I LOVE that. I respect religion enough not to pretend to be something I’m not.
Pagan ceremonies. I am not a pagan. I do not know a lot about paganism. I am happy to perform modified handfastings and wedding ceremonies with pagan elements (I have some GREAT scripts!) but if you want a full Pagan wedding ceremony with the calling in of the elements and traditional wording, please find a person more suited to do that. I can act the part but I don’t feel like I can provide an authentic experience.
Communication
Meetings. These can be in person or via video chat. Generally, what works best for most couples is to have the first meeting is in person and the second meeting as a phone call. You can decide what’s best for you. In-person meetings are held in my office on Monument Circle. Zoom has made meetings so much easier! If you never want a meeting that’s OK too! Everything can be, and often is, accomplished by email. Every couple and every wedding is different.
Communication is incredibly important to me. It is my goal to respond immediately or as soon as possible. Life is not perfect. If I receive an email and cannot respond immediately, I will let you know when I can.
I use a scheduling app that keeps my business on track. It includes a messaging service. It’s like email, but it doesn’t have all the functions of email. I can’t put two emails into one account and you can’t send attachments. I use Google document set to share/edit for your ceremony and you can edit the document any way you like - either directly or with the comment function. It works really well for most couples and we can bring up the document on a tablet or phone at any time. If you want to both be copied on correspondence, we can start a regular email chain. If you prefer not to use Google Docs, you are welcome to use another format and email it to me as an attachment. I use victorialmeyer@gmail.com for my correspondence.
It is optimal if we can maintain one email chain in one place if at all possible. Thank you!! My scheduling app accepts and keeps track of payments and sends automatic receipts.
Phone Calls. I request we schedule phone calls so you can have my full attention and I can be prepared to answer any questions you might have. It can be as simple as texting and asking if it’s a good time to talk. If it isn’t I will let you know when is. My phone number is (317)403-7379. I’m a full-time wedding officiant and spend many workdays in my office performing quick civil ceremonies. I’m also a mom. Your call is important but I might be busy!
Texting. You can text me at any time. (317)403-7379. My regular hours are 8 - 8 daily and my phone is set to “do not disturb” at other times. I won’t hear your text, but it probably won’t take me too long to see it. If you text or email outside those hours, it may take time for me to get back to you. If you text me at a crazy hour of the night and I see it right away, I’ll text back right away, otherwise, I will probably wait until after 8 am so I don’t wake anyone. You can let me know it’s OK to text you back at weird hours and I’m happy to do so.
Social Media Messages. Please don’t send me messages through the private messenger functions on Facebook or Instagram. It’s easier to keep track of all of our conversations if we stick to email and texting. One email chain is perfect!
Legal marriage and your marriage license. Each couple must obtain their own marriage license in accordance with Indiana state laws. I maintain a website with an excellent overview of how to get married in Indiana. I’m regularly in the Marion County Clerk’s office and am familiar with the procedures of the surrounding counties. You can view that website here: https://howtogetmarriedinindy.com/.
We can complete your marriage license at your rehearsal, on the day of your wedding, or any time leading up to your wedding. If you are already legally married in secret - or not, I’m very happy to perform a formal wedding ceremony for you and keep your secret. You may be planning your wedding for over a year and halfway through realize you need to be legally married for a really good reason. We can arrange to have you come by my office and have a quick “I do” and signature. This is a very common occurrence.
I am happy to return your marriage license for you after your wedding. If the license was issued in Marion County, I will return the license for you in person and mail you two certified copies. If the license was issued in another county, I’m happy to mail it for you. You are always welcome and encouraged to return your own marriage license in person whenever possible.
I will be the person officiating your wedding. I will not subcontract your wedding to anyone else.
If there is an emergency and I will be physically unable to perform your wedding you will be notified immediately and I will do everything within my power to find a suitable replacement to perform the already agreed upon ceremony. If I am unable to find a replacement, you will still have the agreed-upon ceremony to use any way you wish.
An “emergency” is a last-minute occurrence. If an emergency should occur, your ceremony document should already be complete and fully detailed that close to your wedding day and anyone should be able to pick it up and perform it. If I am unable to find a replacement I will also refund the $400 balance.
Fees. This formal wedding ceremony package is $550. A $150 non-refundable payment is required to save your date and time. This payment covers all administrative time involved in correspondence, meetings, and writing your ceremony. The $400 balance is due 30 days before your wedding day. If you pay the $400 balance early, the balance is refundable if you cancel your wedding more than 30 days before your scheduled wedding day.
The $550 fee is for weddings performed in the greater Indianapolis area - within a 1-hour drive from my home in zip code 46037. If I have to travel farther, additional fees may apply.
