The Presentation of the Bride (and or Groom!) During Your Wedding Ceremony
Who gives this woman to be married? Who presents this woman to be married? May I have your blessing on thi marriage? In the past wedding season I have had less brides "presented or given in marriage" and more couples asking for the blessing from their parents. Many couples are finding it nice to include their parents, and even their guests in this. It shows more equality for the bride and groom and it gives the grooms parents a role equal to the brides parents. But don't worry, if you have always dreamed of your father walking you down the aisle and giving you away I am more than happy to accommodate! It's tradition!! (You can also do both!)
It's a Jewish custom for both parents to walk the bride and the groom down the aisle. You don't have to be Jewish to do that. LGBTQ are always welcome at Marry Me In Indy! so i f you are a groom and you want your parents to give your away - no worries! There is tradition, but there is also really no right or wrong. I want you to get married your way.

It's a classic!
Who gives this woman to be married?
Father: "Her mother and I do." Or, "I do." Or, "We do."
This can be changed to suit the situation. It's all good! It might be your mother, father, stepfather and stepmother, foster parents... it takes a village.

Presentation of the Bride and Groom 7
The marriage of Bride and Groom brings together two different families and their two unique story lines. Today, a new chapter in their lives begins to unfold. Although this relationship was formed out of the love these two have found in each other, their marriage will ultimately be blessed by the support of their families. At this time, I formally ask for that blessing.
Groom’s Mother and father, Name and Name, do you offer this couple your goodwill?
Do you welcome Bride as a member of your family and give her your love and affection? Parents: We do.
